Help With travel plans?

So now you've booked the course what will you need to know about your tour? There are Accommodation and Location pages that will help you with these details, so be sure to look at them. This page is to fill in the gaps and will be updated with feedback from customers.

Q: Do I need Travel Insurance
A: YES! It is mandatory to have travel insurance while on Dempsey Tours. Be sure to have insurance that covers snow skiing.

Q: How fit do I have to be?
A: Again this depends on how much you want out of the course. If you are an intermediate skier you should already know what that first few days back on the snow feels like. The more you prepare, the quicker you can get over your jet-lag and aching muscles. Even the fittest of us will still feel the burn on the thighs after an 11km run down to the base of Blackcomb.

Q: What's the weather like?
A: December through to February will tend to be the coldest with the odd day getting as cold as -20C. Usually though in these months the temperature will vary between -5C and -20C in the alpine area. Down in the village the temperature will often float around zero or just above. March and April can be warmer with late April actually getting into the teens. But beware, the temperature can always drop unexpectedly

Q: Can I extend my tour?
A: Yes, provided we have enough accommodation available to house you. In January and February we can be fully booked and you may need to organize your own accommodation if you wish to stay longer. Be aware that The Presidents Day weekend is in mid February, the busiest holiday of the year when Whistler can be completely booked out.

Q: Can I stay for a few extra days?
A: Generally, no. If you wish to stay longer you must pay by the week, and as mentioned above, only if the accommodation is available.

Q: Are there airport transfers?
A: No, there are several bus lines that service Whistler direct from Vancouver Airport or many city hotels. Try Perimeter Bus Lines website at www.perimeterbus.com for times and booking info.
