Q: Are the houses far from the village?
A: All of our houses are an approximate 10 minute walk from the village. Grocery stores, Bottle shops and pharmacies can be found there.

Q: Can I bring hairdryers, electric razors, computers etc.?
A: You can bring all your electrical appliances. Be sure to have the correct adapter plugs for them though.

Q: I intend to stay in Whistler after the tour. Can I get work with Whistler Blackcomb after completing a Ski To Instructor course?
A: A Ski To Instructor course offered by Dempsey Tours is to prepare you for sitting the Level I and Level II CSIA examinations. Provided you pass Level I and/or the Level II examinations it may be possible to seek work. Be reminded you must have a valid Canadian work permit to even seek work, and that Whistler Blackcomb doesn't always need instructors.

Q: How should I dress when skiing in Whistler?
A: Dress in layers, No cotton. Synthetic materials such as polypropylene are good. Waterproof outerwear is great but won’t breath much, jacket and pant with vent/zips are great.

Q: Should I hire ski's or buy?
A: Buy. Even if you are only doing a 2 week Dempsey Tour, the cost of hiring ski's/boots/poles for a week would virtually buy you a new pair. There are many places to shop in the village; as well the exchange rate may be in your advantage to buy in Canada. All the boot fitting shops in town will guarantee the fit of the boot for life, where many places overseas will charge about $100.00 an hour for a fitting / adjustments.

Q: How much spending money do I need?
A: This really depends on how much you eat, how much you drink and how often you intend eating out? A good ballpark figure would be CAN$50 per day depending on the above. And don't forget the extra money to buy that "bargain" ski jacket once you're here.
